Capsicum Rice

1.    Basmati rice/ long grained rice – 4 cups
2.    Capsicum – 3  (green , red, yellow) chopped finely
3.    Butter – 50 gms
4.    Garlic paste – of 1/2 pod
5.    Onion – 2 chopped
6.    Spring onion – a small bunch, chopped
7.    Celery – 3 stems chopped
8.    Salt to taste


1.    Cook rice with salt and water. When it is done open the lid and keep for 30 minutes and fluff it off with a fork so that the grains wont stick to each other

2.    Into a cookware add butter and when it starts to melt add the garlic paste

3.    Stir well and when it starts to change the color add in the chopped onions , spring onions and celery

4.    Mix well for 2 to 3 minutes and add in the chopped capsicum

5.    Do not keep for a long time ,the color of the capsicum should not change and also the crunchiness should be retained

6.    Add in the cooked rice and mix everything well

7.    Check salt and add if needed
