Vientiane, Nov 13 – Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived here on Monday on a state visit to Laos after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Vietnam.
This marks the first visit in 11 years by a Chinese head of state to Laos, Xinhua news agency reported.
Xi is scheduled to meet Laos President Bounnhang Vorachit, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and National Assembly President Pany Yathotu.
Vientiane is the final leg of Xi’s first overseas trip after he was re-elected the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China last month.
