Nifty range bound for the Ninth Day

Nifty ends near 8,550; Mid cap, Small cap indices outperform!

Index heavyweights Tata Motors, Housing Development Finance Corp, and Larsen & Toubro rose 1-3% today, helping local share indices shrug off the weakness in most global markets to end higher after a choppy session.

In the cash segment Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were buyers to the tune of Rs 438 crores and Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers to the tune of Rs 366 crores.

In FNO segment, FIIs bought 8,421 contracts of Index Futures and sold 18,069 contracts of Index calls.
They also bought 563 contracts of Index puts.
DIIsĀ  are net short by 16,069 in Index Futures contracts.

Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) data shows support at 8500 and Resistance at 8600.
