Nifty Zooms past 8600, Sensex closes above 28000

Taking positive cues from the Asian markets, Nifty opened in green and ended the day above 8650.

In the cash segment Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1,204  crores and DIIs were net sellers to the tune of Rs 392 crores.

In FNO segment, FIIs sold 2,535  contracts of Index Futures but bot 26,522 contracts of Index calls.
They also sold 12,268 contracts of Index puts.
DIIs  are net short by 17,365 (-120) in Index Futures contracts.
