Nifty hits 16 Month High

Nifty crossed the 8700 mark and hit a high of 8,750.60 before closing at 8745.

In the cash segment Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers to the tune of Rs 391 crores and Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) net buyers to the tune of  Rs 485 crores.

In FNO segment, FIIs bought 31,700  contracts of Index Futures and bought  34,288 contracts of Index calls.
They also sold 18,047  contracts of Index puts.
DIIs  are net short by 9,765 (-1,286) in Index Futures contracts.
