Nifty ends below 8550

Nifty declines 1.2% to settle down at 8518 for the day largely due to the sell-off in PSE banking stocks. Nifty’s range for the day is 44.65 points and it closed down 1.2% compared to Tuesday’s closing value.

In the cash segment Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers to the tune of Rs 667 crores and Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) net buyers to the tune of  Rs 407 crores.

In FNO segment, FIIs sold 13,353  contracts of Index Futures and sold 16,250 contracts of Index calls.
They also bought 26,147  contracts of Index puts.
DIIs  are net short by 4,449 (down 1,079) in Index Futures contracts.
