Akshara Haasan turns assistant director in father’s film Sabaash Naidu

Chennai- Akshara Haasan, younger daughter of actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, has enrolled herself as an assistant director in her father’s upcoming trilingual film “Sabaash Naidu”. It will go on the floors in May.

“Akshara has joined the project and she will be assisting director Rajeev Kumar. This is the first time Kamal sir will be working both the daughters on the same project. Shruti Haasan will be playing his daughter in the film,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

To be simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, the film also stars Ramya Krishnan and Manu Narayanan.

The regular shooting will start from May 16 in the US, where nearly 80 percent of the film will be shot.

Tipped to be an action-comedy, the film will have music by maestro Ilayaraja.

Akshara was last seen in Bollywood film “Shamitabh” featuring southern hearthrob Dhanush and Amitabh in the titular role.

We had earlier reported that “Sabaash Naidu” will see Kamal haasan portray the character “Balram Naidu” last seen in his mega venture Dasavatharam which saw the actor portray as many as ten characters in a single movie.
