F&O – Open Interest Report for 5th July 2016

Nifty opened flat for the first time since the BREXIT event on 24th June 2016. Nifty eventually ended the day with a loss of 35 points from previous close.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers to the tune of Rs 266 crores in the cash segment and the Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold 448 crores in the cash segment.

In the FNO segment,  FIIs bought 2016 contracts in Index futures , 2,882 contracts in Index calls and 3,222 contracts in Index puts. Surprisingly, after a long time DIIs are net short in Index Futures by 7,338 contracts.
