Nifty manages to close above 8700

Nifty closes above 8700. Aurobindo Pharma up 2%  while Hindalco down 2.3% on a low volume day. Nifty’s range for the day is 78 points and it closed down by 0.19 % compared to Monday’s closing value.

In the cash segment Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers to the tune of Rs 156 crores and Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) net buyers to the tune of  Rs 91 crores.

In FNO segment, FIIs sold 6,185  contracts of Index Futures and sold 9,036 contracts of Index calls.
They also bought 29,182  contracts of Index puts.
DIIs  are net short by 9,752 (+1,666) in Index Futures contracts.
