RBI maintains status quo, Nifty ends below 8700

As it was widely expected, RBI maintained status quo on the policy rate. Markets were volatile through out the day and closed below 8700.

In the cash segment FIIs were net buyers to the tune of Rs 144  crores and DIIs were net sellers to the tune of Rs 610 crores.

In FNO segment, FIIs bought 2,539  contracts of Index Futures but sold 734 contracts of Index calls.
They also bought 14,093 contracts of Index puts.
DIIs  are net short by 19,804 (+270) in Index Futures contracts.
